~surprises, surprises~

Life is so full of surprises~

surprise #1: I'm blogging this post after many, many months and there's a major TV studies assg to hand in next week as well as an INT class test!

surprise #2: I don't even rmb my username and password for my own blog. Took me half an hour to sign in...trying to rmb it.

surprise #3: All prepared for life in Melbourne city in 2008 and looks like i'll end up in the suburbs if my student exchange application form goes smoothly.

surprise #4: Gippsland doesn't look as bad as i initially thought. Way cheaper living expenses, big campus, savour mother nature (should be a good thing, rite?)

surprise #5: My parents going to Hong Kong and Macau without me =( The last time they went overseas was in 1996! (but in 1996, i got to go with them!)

surprise #6: My dad tells me 2 months ago that he'll be taking early retirement. So, instead of having mum nagging at me most of the time...i think i'll have dad nagging at me as well. Wow...does this mean more visits from them in the apartment?? If so, where do i hide my bf "if he comes in the 1st place"?

surprise #7: My dad has a HOT PINK iPod shuffle and i don't! Gosh...my dad who doesn't even know how to use the internet has an iPod and i don't! Well, can't blame him, he won it from a lucky draw...hopes he hands it to me tho *kekekeke*

To conclude this blog entry, I'll be back with more surprises after my mid-sem break!!! *winks*

p/s: blogspot dun have hot pink for me to bold my words with *SURPRISE!*

~a journalist's journal~

Work?

Supposed to do my presentation on environment in moral studies class but unfortunately, or should I say fortunately, due to time constraints, I didn't have time to present mine. It was lucky coz my whole group did not include moral values into our presentation. SO now I gotta add it into my presentation...an extra workload!...and present on Thurs...arrrgh! Anyway, for JRN assg...for critique purposes...today is the day I've been wondering what to write about. Stroke was today's news and I thought of writing about that or obesity...but then again...interviewing doctors might be pretty difficult. My alternative topic is Maxis Wireless Broadband. My angle would be...hmm...introducing it, its features and "What makes it better than the biggest internet service provider in Malaysia, Streamyx?"..."How would Maxis compete with the well-known Streamyx?". Hopefully, people from Maxis Centre in Taipan can be my interviewee. If this doesn't work out, I've no idea whatelse to write about. Sent an e-mail to Maxis Centre and crossing my fingers, hoping to get a reply soon...i doubt it though.

Fun?

Been admiring my brand new dimmer lamp bought fr Ikea on Sunday. Wonderful stand lamp! I get to adjust its brightness...play with the dimmer...LOL! To me, RM135 was worth it. Hopefully mum doesn't nag me. I've been hunting for dimmer lamps for a very very very long time! And now, I'm...ya, broke!!!

My wonderful Ikea dimmer standing lamp!I just can't stop admiring it =)

Today, pasta was my dinner. Prepared by Chef Yina...someday she's gonna pass as my chef. She just seems to lurrrrrrrrve cookin' so much! Hahaha! Joined by her friend, the IMU guy (she calls him) which means...I don't rmb his name actually. Hehe. Anyway, after dinner YINA DROVE HIS CAR ALL THE WAY TO SUBANG PARADE!!! Now, that was amazing! The trip there I was like really really tensed! I think I was more tensed than the IMU guy (the owner of the car)...haha! Coz she had sooo many questions b4 we started off eg: "where do I put in the car keys?" "how do I wind down the window?" "How do I on the lights?" "Oh...I forgot to put on my seatbelt!" We were so afraid that the next q she's gonna ask "where's the accelerator and brakes?" Luckily, she did not and it was a safe journey to and fro. The journey back was hilarious though. We went there for dessert...Swensens...for ice cream. We shared 'Earthquake' 8 scoops all in and it was like RM2 for each scoop and the IMU guy paid for it...oooh....free dessert =) We had cookies and cream, butterscotch, mocha, sticky chewy choc, choc chip, raisin, macademia nuts & peanut flavours. I wonder whether I got the names right though. Haha!

Bon Apetit?

Right before I started this post, I came across a yahoo article bout the 10 mood lifter foods...yummy...u get to eat as well as be happy. Just the right thing for me right now considering that life is full of stress & depression. Maybe if ppl were to eat these foods, there will be less depressed ppl on earth =) ~CheerS~

Top Ten Happy Foods

Eating for a better mood boils down to this; control your blood sugars by eating every 4 to 5 hours throughout the day, eat a diet rich in soluble fiber, and incorporate foods rich in omega 3 fats, folic acid, B12 and Vitamin D - four nutrients that researchers have found to be mood lifting.
For meal plans, grocery lists, recipes and much more information on improving your mood, check out my new book, JOY BAUER'S FOOD CURES
The following are my Top Ten Happy Foods - bon apetit!
1. Wild salmon (rich in omega 3 fats and vitamin D) (Love salmon, but don't lk to cook fish)
2. Spinach - (rich in folic acid and soluble fiber)
3. Skim milk - (rich in Vitamin D and B12)
4. Ground flaxseeds (rich soluble fiber, omega 3 fats and folic acid) (No idea what this is)
5. Blackberries (rich in soluble fiber and folic acid)
6. Omega 3 fortified eggs - (rich in omega 3 fats, Vitamin D and B12) (I always buy Omega 3 eggs...didn't feel like it was a mood lifter though...LOL)
7. Sardines ( rich in omega 3 fats and Vitamin D) (Hmm...I'll consider that)
8. Soybeans - (rich in soluble fiber, folic acid and omega 3 fats) (I miss uni's 'huang tang' soya bean so much...didn't get to drink it for some time already...sigh)
9. Beans (rich in soluble fiber and folic acid)
10. Brussels sprouts (soluble fiber and folic acid)
Plus an extra for good luck!
11. Sunflower seeds - (rich in soluble fiber and folic acid) (Guess I'll need more of these if they work as good luck charms...lol)

Anyway, now I gotta start doing my work...arrgh...it just seems never-ending...sigh. 2 posts a day just shows how lazy I am to start doing my assignments. ~CheerS~ to my never-ending assignments!!Woohoo!!

~everyday is a nice day~

My 21st?

Yina got me a TL pencil box at 12am. Body shop produts fr Joy, Sze Yin & Jason. Chocs fr Chin Kit. My best pals still owe me prezzies. Bikini fr Chee Sheng...hehe. Cash fr my dad =) The worst bday gift award goes to myself for crashing my car that very night! It was really nice of my uncle who drove all the way fr Ampang to Subang to help me settle things the very next day. Thanks to Kai as well for his car...lol...must rmb to pay him back when I'm finally not broke! Also, a few days after the car crash, I went to the 1st bar in my life: Skybar & my 1st martini tho i prefer Yina's margarita (if that's how it's spelt...I alwiz get it wrong). A nice bar with swimming pools for ppl to fall into when they get drunk & a nice view of KLCC.

My baby back from the workshop. I miss my baby so so much!

Sem break?

Went back to Ipoh with my cousin, a place where there's lots of cheap & good food that are not miles away fr my house.

Greeted by these gifts on my bed. Card & doggy fr my bro & decor in the centre fr my mum.

Written in the card by my bro. He's mean after being nice.

Every single day in Ipoh I had supper with my family & my cousin as well. Wanted to eat all the good food b4 returning to KL where most of the food suck. 1st night dimsum right after dinner, 2nd night laksa & stinking tofu (doesn't stink at all) right after dinner & 3rd night ipoh chicken kuey teow & hakka mee also right after my dinner!LOL! Really miss that laksa...best laksa I've tasted so far. Had my haircut as well as my brows shaped (my 1st time). Back in KL, it was shopping, shopping & shopping...i mean, window shopping coz I'm broke most of the time. God knows where all my money go all the time! Bought a wireless router (149) fr PC fair which was amazingly cheap...it was half the price of the 1st router (around 300) & dad offered to pay for it. How nice =) Midvalley: Had the most bitter drink i ever tasted in my life! Fr Kwong Woh Tong, the place ppl go to for gui lin gao.

BEWARE!!! EXTREMELY BITTER!!!

My cousin, Flo - reaction fr the bitterness of the drink!

My reaction upon tasting the bitterness of the drink!

p/s: These 2 reactions captured were not intentional for posing purposes! It even gave me goosebumps! It was THAT BITTER! -end of mid-sem break-

The visit fr my parents?

My parents visited me last weekend. My baby looks nice, clean & shiny, thanks to my dad who took it to the car wash =) and the floor in my apartment is finally mopped thanks to my mum. LOL!

~blogging slack~

Hmm...guess i've not been blogging for a few days...getting lazy already. Anyway, gotta get this entry in no matter what coz in this entry...I wanna say," YINA GOT ME A XMAS PREZZIE!!!WOOHOO!" Haha. She's so nice. She says it's sth that I've been wanting for a long, long time...a keyboard?..."Nope, too expensive"...so sad. However, I trust her 'sth that I want for a long, long time already' Hehe. Thanks and CHEERS to her. Now, I wonder whether Bernard will come back with some souvenirs fr US...hehe.

What hv I been doing for the past few days? Hmmm...PC fair...2 days in a row. Went there on the 1st day with my frenz and wanted to buy mp4, so did 2 of my frenz...so went there on the 2nd day but no1 ended up buying any 1 of those mp4s. Haha...too bad. Wanted to buy speakers as well...but none that I liked when I was there so I ended up with some DVDs. After that, shopping again...in JJ...lol. Here's the place where I found the cheapest dress and shirt EVER!

Here, now Yina can hv a look at it. Bought it fr Soda exchange, 98 bucks and I got it for HALF PRICE! I've nv ever seen a nice dress worth below 50 bucks. The shirt, which I do not hv a pic for it is worth 70 sth but I got it for HALF PRICE as well. LOL...i just love the dress and the shirt so so so so much. Nice?

On that same day, bought Wan Yee a bracelet for xmas. Hehe. Today, got 2 xmas gifts. 1 fr my grandaunt, the other's fr my mum. Saw a bracelet that I really love and it's sooo cheap...10 bucks! But my mum said she'll pay...as part of my xmas prezzies and she refuses to let me wear it today. I was sooo sad. Sobz. Oh yeah, smelt a really really nice smell in Ipoh Parade today and I started searching for the source coz we smelt it around the scented candles area. Wanted to get that scent so that my room will smell really really nice. So I searched high and low while my mum looked around at the nice stuff on display. In the end, my mum helped me search for the smell as well...hahaha. We gave up though coz none of the candles or aromatherapy stuff smells lk that. So we walked to the bed sheet department and AGAIN we caught that smell. *Sniff Sniff* and a man holding a mop walked pass...hmmm...man with a mop and the nice smell...guess the nice smell must b the detergent stuff or sth...haha...too bad...guess I'll nv ever get that scent in my room.

Hmmm...whatelse of interest? Oh yeah, an article fr yahoo says, a research shows that kidz who r more vegetarian as they grow hv higher IQs. This is due to the fact that ppl with higher IQs r more conscious of their diets. Therefore, they r more likely to lean more to the veg diet. Well, I twisted it a lil tho : If u lk meat, u're a retard! Hehe. Posted it as my msn msg and many ppl asked me that q and I got to call many ppl retards ytd. That was fun! Hahaha. Today, my msn msg reads : I'm a romantic kisser with a link to the kissing quiz....lol.

TV?Hmmm, I finally watched The Passion of Christ. Many ppl say it's a really really touching show and most of them cried while watching it. Too bad i didn't. It was a really gruesome show when they tortured Jesus...more lk violence to me. To most Christians though, they see sacrifice or sth lk that I think. Or maybe I wasn't that touched because I was msn-ing while watching it and kept missing the subtitles coz the whole show was in Latin...lol.

The Passion of Christ

Had another round of mahjong with my bro and my mum ytd nite. Hopefully my mahjong skills will be polished b4 next sem starts. Kai challenges me to a game of mahjong...lol.

~End of blog entry : My friend found himself a gf...lol~

~in da blogging mode again~

Woohoo...I've been blogging quite constantly. Maybe too free...got nth better to do. Skipped a day or 2 though. 2 days of badminton sessions in a row...my ipoh frenz...the badminton freaks...lol. Well, after badminton ytd, i cooked spaghetti again! Hehe...for lunch...cooked for my mum and my uncle this time. At least my uncle finished the whole bowl...means it's not really bad actually. "Any1 wanna try the *oriental* spaghetti (as Joy calls it) that I cook?" Yeah, and my mum said those words again "It's nice" As I cooked, my friend, Chee Sheng (Cheel) came and watch me cook and she kept on saying "I dun dare to eat" sigh...so sad. One of my closest friends doesn't trust my cooking...lolzz.

Well, after that we went shopping in JJ again. Haha...nowhere else to shop. Went there with my childhood friend, Wan Yee. Good thing she didn't ffk me this time. She's alwiz bz with her stuff....God knows what...lol. Anyway, here are some pics fr JJ's Watson...

Wan Yee on the left and Cheel on the right...with xmas hats on our heads "special thanks to Watson". This pic was taken with an employee watching us as well as an old man. LOL! Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way....the xmas mood.

Wan Yee picks up another accessory, puts it on her head and asks me "Nice ah?"
This is what I answered : "That question? You should ask ur bf, not me"
So, Hong Keat, if u're ever reading my blog (if she gives u my blog address), answer her question, k. Haha.

This bunch of guys are fr SMI, my brother's friends. Met them at JJ. Do they look lk they just came back fr a vacation at the beach? Yeah, they just came back fr LTC in Penang. Especially the guy in the bright green shorts. Haha. Well, this is actually my way of revenge. He talks a lot and refuses to get me a pair of Nike sports shoes for xmas. He ended up pointing at Timberland and asks me for a pair of Timberland shoes for xmas. Bad Wai Hin!!

After the shopping session, which ended up not buying anything, I was looking forward to go home, hv my dinner, watch tv and start blogging the day's events but sadly, they force me to go Sushi King...sobz. For Dinner! Gosh, I hate sushi. However, Wan Yee got me to eat a sushi made of rice and tofu. Not bad though so I decided to get another plate of that but souldn't finish it in d end. Decided to stop calling anymore sushis...dinner at home is still on my mind. Lolz. After the meal, Sinn Yi turned as red as a lobster...hopefully she's ok. Then, I bought 3 slices of cakes fr Secret Recipe for supper. "Haven't had my dinner but already thinking of supper, huh." Got a Banana Choc, Blueberry Cheese and Choc Indulgence. I'm a chocolate lover...yum yum. Went home for dinner and started mahjong session with my mum and my bro while eating those cakes. There's still 1 more slice in the fridge though. Well, the mahjong session ended at 3am and I played candy cruncher till 4am. I'm sooo happy! I broke Joy's candy crunching record! WOOHOO! Envy me, JOY!

To end this blog, here are some pics of my other dog, Jack. He's old and not used to taking photos...

This is Jack.

He's walking up and down. I wonder what he's looking for...hmmm???

Orh...looking for a place to pee. Yer...he's sooo obscene...peeing in front of my camera.

Finished peeing?Ok...CHEESE!

That's my Jacky. Got him since Form 1 or 2. He's getting old BUT really garang. Good guard dog.

P/S: Still waiting for a reply fr 8TV...sighzzz...

P/S: PC fair on Fri (stadium). Chin Kit says he's sick on Fri *good prediction...today's Wed* LOLzz. Just kidding, k, CK =) *I think his fever will go up another 2 degrees upon reading this blog entry. Haha*

~The Oprah Winfrey Show~

The Oprah Winfrey Show...my favourite talk show. Personally I think she inspires every single person who watches her show. She's sooo courageous...outspoken...and she doesn't seem like she has any flawz at all. How nice it is to be like her, rich, famous, influential, independent and the best moments of her shows are the parts where she gives the audience or her guests surprises! Lol...I just can't stop laughing at some of their reactions! In today's Oprah Show...this temptation was introduced - Oprah's 20th Anniversary Collection DVD...haha...I guess this is gonna go into my "Dream Come True" list. She's always asking ppl to dream big dreams...it's just so inspiring. Her show actually inspired a woman who's really, really shy to become a broadway star. That was amazing...though I dun really rmb her name...hehe. Well...maybe I'll just aspire to be like her...lol...like my fave phrase "Shoot for the moon, even if u can't, u'll land among the stars" and i started loving this phrase since i read p/s I Love You - Cecilia Ahern. Wow...that's amazing...I actually rmb the author's name. Haha.

To end this blog :
Anything extraordinary today? : None...except for this DVD...want it quite badly...sobz.
Current craze : Youtube...but can't seem to find the videos i wanna watch...nah, not porn...just short clips from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. that makes sense with head, body and tail.
Current fave song : Everywhere - Michelle Branch =)

Turn it inside out so I can see
The part of you that's drifting over me
And when I wake you're never there
But when I sleep you're everywhere
You're everywhere

Just tell me how I got this far
Just tell me why you're here and who you are
'Cause every time I look you're never there
And every time I sleep you're always there

'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it's you I see
You're everything I know that makes me believe
I'm not alone
I'm not alone

I recognize the way you make me feel
It's hard to think that you might not be real
I sense it now, the water's getting deep
I try to wash the pain away from me
Away from me

'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it's you I see
You're everything I know that makes me believe
I'm not alone
I'm not alone

I am not alone
Whoa, oh, oooh, oh

And when I touch your hand
It's then I understand
The beauty that's within
It's now that we begin
You always light my way
I hope there never comes a day
No matter where I go
I always feel you so

'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it's you I see
You're everything I know that makes me believe
I'm not alone
'Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I catch my breath it's you I breathe
You're everything I know that makes me believe
I'm not alone

You're in everyone I see
So tell me
Do you see me?

P/S : I'm still waiting for 8TV...sigh...

~Da Shopaholic~

My sem break is like a continuous shopping routine day after day and the most amazing thing is...Ipoh has only T-W-O shoppable shopping malls - JJ and Ipoh Parade! Well, I guess these 2 places are becoming my home-s soon enough. I can even blindfold myself and still find the appropriate shops filled with clothes, shoes, gifts, accessories...even Popular and MPH bookstores have become 1 of my favourite places. Lolz.

My first pair of 'h-u-g-e' sunglasses from Penang.

Usually, i wouldn't choose such huge sunglasses...but it's DA TREND. Kinda like these sunglasses already. Hehe. This marks the beginning of the shopaholic era for me. After this pair of glasses, came a belt...then clothes from boutiques and i finally got myself some tubes and a shrug! This is then followed by...

A necklace, a mouse, a blue hippo, a pair of shoes, a pair of sandals and another belt!

These 2 cuties are just too irressistable to not buy them home and it's CHEAP!

Well, the Pride and Prejudice scene in the background is just my fave blogskin. Have been searching for ages and finally came along this amazing blogskin that i just love but had trouble setting it. In the end, I settled for that xmas blogskin. But then again, kept thinking of this P&P blogskin day and night and in the end I actually posted a msg on the designer's tagboard in her blog. Lolz. I am THIS DESPERATE! She replied me and said she'll send me the code but in the end I found out how to set it myself. Read her blog and she has loads of pics in her blog also about food, food AND food. I guess ppl just can't live without food...haha...which reminds me of the delicious laksa I had in pasar malam not so long ago. I'm not a person that's into spicy food but since that bowl of laksa, I craved for another bowl the next day when i was...ya, shopping again...in Ipoh Parade with my mum. We walked past a stall inside Ipoh Parade and got a whiff of some spicy laksa but sadly, when we asked them whether they're selling laksa, they said it's tomyam. So, tomyam for lunch...which was also satisfying enough to make up for my crave for laksa...hahaha. There, we had a glass of coffee plus 'leung fun' which was kinda odd when the waiter recommended it...but, "Boy! He was right!" It's soo nice and unique...haha. Well, actually i'm still craving for a bowl of laksa. Haha. Ok, back to the 'shopaholic'...

The nice pattern on the shoe...just can't resist to display it...hehe.

Well, after that, bought a shirt as well. But, sth more irresistable was coming up. The Grand Sale in Ipoh Parade! Lolz. This time, the Solvil watch was the temptation. But, Solvil Titus was having a 50% discount! Well, in the end, I paid a little more for the Solvil Titus watch. It's original price was 600 plus and I got it for half that price plus RM 30 voucher to spend on other goods. This is da most expensive watch I ever owned..."TA DA!"

I just LOVE this watch sooo much!

Actually, this isn't the last thing I bought. I bought a pair of shorts, 2 jeans, 2 skirts and another sweater....hahaha...and the last thing I bought...is this bag...

My shoulder bag from Sub =)

That marks the end of my shopping spree...hopefully not...coz I still need to shop for xmas prezzies...hahaha. Guess I'll be doing that in KL right before my uncle's wedding dinner which is then followed by my granduncle's birthday dinner. Gosh, I'm getting really broke and in need of a job asap. My 8TV job? Don't really know whether it's gonna work...had to send snail mail coz my e-mails kept being blocked by their firewallzzz and the only way to apply for it would be to send them a snail mail...sighzz...

As for now, I'm sooo hungry and I wanna hv my lunch which I've not the slightest idea of what it is...which reminds me of cooking spaghetti for my mum for lunch a few days ago...hahaha. Like all mums, she says it's delicious...haha. Tmr is a good day for badminton...which means I gotta wake up early...and my frenz just refuse to let me take a photo of their sweaty selves for me to post in my blog....lolz...hopefully more luck tmr.
